Allah says in Surah Fussilat Verse 44
And if We had sent this as a Qur’ân in a foreign language other than Arabic, they would have said: “Why are not its Verses explained in detail (in our language)? What! (A Book) not in Arabic and (the Messenger) an Arab?” Say: “It is for those who believe, a guide and a healing. And as for those who disbelieve, there is heaviness (deafness) in their ears, and it (the Qur’ân) is blindness for them. They are those who are called from a place far away (so they neither listen nor understand).
Understanding Arabic is the way to comprehend the words of Allah and His messenger. The Arabic Language is part of Islam; it is the symbol of Islam and the language of the Qur’aan. Thus knowing Arabic is an obligatory duty. If learning and understanding the Qur’aan and Sunnah is a duty that has to be fulfilled by the slave of Allaah, and that cannot be understood without knowing Arabic, then it is an obligatory duty of the Abdullaah to study the Language of Arabic.
Understanding the Qur‘ân and Sunnah, and the words of the Salaf will thus be made easier. In an attempt to provide this opportunity to our Community to learn the language of Our Rab, Al Iman Schools has initiated Weekly Morning One and Half Hourly “Arabic Classes for Mothers” (AC4M) at the school premises. These classes are headed by Educators who possess vast experience and the relevant qualifications in the language of Arabic. Three batches are currently enrolled.
